Want to be a fat burning machine?

My old trainer (she's not old, I just used her in the past) and current kickboxing teacher at the Y, Lynne Holcomb, is always impressing upon us little healthy lifestyle tidbits. And she knows what she's talking about - you should see her!

Last night in kickboxing, she told us about the importance of drinking enough water - 128 ounces, 16 cups, 1 gallon - a day.

Our kidneys need this much water to function properly. When our kidneys don't get that much water, they have to turn to their good friend the liver to help flush toxins and do other nasty organ type things. Unfortunately, our liver doesn't multi-task well. So while she is helping the kidneys out, she's no longer burning and processing the fat the way she likes to.

So, you want to be a fat burning machine? Drink a gallon of water a day. You'll also be a peeing machine too, but that should subside in about 10 days when your kidneys adjust.

Good luck future fat burning machines every where! I've started my lil tally right here on a Post-It. If you need me, I'll be in the ladies' room.
