I love a list. I love a chart. I love to check things off. I love to plan WAY in advance.
Hence my goal gallery for 2010. Yes, it's only November. But I believe a successful execution requires careful planning. PLus, I saw this on another blog and thought it was quite inspirational.
So here's my goal gallery.
1. Take guitar lessons. (This one used to read "learn how to play the guitar." Said guitar has been in my room for 5+ years now, has been restrung and tuned countless times and yet I still don't know how to play. It doesn't look like I'll be adding "Self-taught guitarist" to my resume any time soon.I need help in the form of regularly scheduled lessons.)
2. Get married. This is one I'll be able to cross off in March. Yay for completion! However, I want to take 2010 and nuture our new baby of a marriage. Give it the energy, patience, joy, tenderness, empathy, listening, attention, flexibility, fun and prayer that it needs to really be what God intends it to be.
3. Harness my inner DIY power. I have a couple of pieces in my parents' attic that are begging for an ounce of creativity, a good rub down with some sandpaper, and the bling of some new hardware. Hopefully you'll be seeing some before and afters on this very blog.
4. Ride the Virginia Creeper bike trail. According to Wikipedia, "The Virginia Creeper Trail is a 35-mile (56 km) multi-purpose rail trail in southwestern Virginia running from Abingdon to Whitetop, Virginia (near the North Carolina state line) and crossing numerous restored trestles and crossing the Appalachian Trail." Sounds lovely.
5. Become Italian. That's right. I want to change my heritage - culinary heritage that is. I want to be an amazing Italian cook. I want the neighbors to rave about my homemade pasta; neighborhood children beg for a slice of my pizza. I want homemade sausages to hang from my shower curtain rod as they cure (just like my friend Enza's dad.) I want some one to say, "You must have Stacey's stromboli. It's out of this world."
6. Hike. Hike. And hike again. Some of my favorite trips in the last three years have been hiking trips. I want to make sure there are more of them filling up the Saturday and Sunday squares on my calendar.
7. Work. I want to work. I want to work with energy and passion and use the skills and talents God has given me - all while helping some one out.
What's in your goal gallery? I'd love to know!
